OBS for the eBay Live room

What to do once, and what to do every stream. The app builds the OBS scene for you; you only bind the camera and paste eBay's key.

One time

1. Set the sayings and the links in the app

  1. Open any stream session and click Stream Overlays.
  2. Click ✏ Ticker & Live Sources at the top.
  3. Rolling sayings: one per line. They scroll along the bottom of every broadcast scene. There is a second box, Sayings for the eBay room — use it to keep TikTok / Whatnot plugs off the eBay stream.
  4. Wheel of Names link: on wheelofnames.com/streaming click Copy link and paste it here. That link shows your saved wheel; you spin it inside OBS (below). Leave the default to show the plain wheel.
  5. Discord widget link: optional, any time later. From streamkit.discord.com/overlay → Install for OBS → Chat → copy the URL. Discord must be running on the streaming PC.
  6. Click Save & reload.

2. Import the scene into OBS

  1. In the app, on your session, click OBS Scenes. A .json file downloads.
  2. In OBS: Scene Collection → Import → pick that file.
  3. Click the eBay Live (Portrait) scene if your canvas is vertical (1080×1920 — the usual eBay Live setup), or eBay Live for a 1920×1080 canvas. Portrait: face cam top-left, wheel top-right, table cam across the middle, the show's items rotating in the bottom panel, sayings along the bottom edge.
  4. Double-click Camera 1 — Face in Sources and pick your face webcam under Device; in the portrait scene do the same for Camera 2 — Top-Down (the table cam). Everything else is already placed.

Changed the sayings? They update on their own. Changed the wheel or Discord link? Click OBS Scenes again and re-import — OBS keeps what it imported.

Every stream

3. Go live

  1. eBay: in Seller Hub → eBay Live, open your event and choose the third-party-software option. Copy the Stream Key (and the RTMP URL if it changed).
  2. OBS: Settings → Stream → Service Custom → paste the URL and key → OK.
  3. OBS: select the eBay Live scene, check your cam and mic in the preview.
  4. The app: open your session and click ▶ Start Stream when you're actually on air, same as any room.
  5. OBS: click Start Streaming.
  6. Load the entries: on your session click Export to Wheel → Copy to clipboard, paste into the Entries box on wheelofnames.com/streaming, click Save, then in OBS right-click the wheel source → Refresh.
  7. Spin: in OBS right-click Wheel of Names (Browser) → Interact, then click the wheel in that window (or press Ctrl+Enter). Spinning on the website tab does not move the copy in OBS. Keep the Interact window open beside your preview — it's your spin button.
  8. Hits left: at the start, right-click Hits Remaining (Browser) → Interact → press S and type tonight's count. Each time someone wins a hit, click the number in that window (or press −); + puts one back. The −1 / +1 / Set buttons only show under your mouse, viewers just see the count.
  9. When you're done: Stop Streaming in OBS, then End the session in the app.

Recommended output: 1920×1080, 30 fps, 4,500–6,000 kbps. Set it once under Settings → Output.

Phone as the face cam

Using an iPhone or Android phone as the camera

  1. Windows only lists a phone as a camera through a bridge app. Install Camo on the phone and Camo Studio on the streaming PC (reincubate.com/camo). DroidCam OBS (dev47apps.com) is the alternative; it adds its own "DroidCam OBS" source type.
  2. Plug the phone in by USB (no lag, stays charged), open the app on both ends until you see your face on the PC.
  3. Close and reopen OBS — it only finds new cameras at startup.
  4. Double-click Camera 1 — Face → Device → Reincubate Camo (or add a DroidCam OBS source).
If something looks off

Quick fixes

  1. Only part of the wheel shows: the wheel page is taller than its box. Right-click "Wheel of Names (Browser)" → Properties → Width 800, Height 800 → OK, then drag a corner in the preview to size it (corners keep it round).
  2. Crop the face cam: click it in the preview, hold Alt and drag an edge inward (green edge = crop). Exact numbers: right-click → Transform → Edit Transform (Ctrl+E) → the four Crop fields. Right-click → Transform → Reset Transform starts over. Lock sources once they're placed.
  3. No sayings strip: the list is empty — add lines in ✏ Ticker & Live Sources, then right-click the "Social Ticker" source → Refresh.
  4. Clicked spin on the website but OBS didn't move: that's expected — spin from OBS (right-click the wheel source → Interact → click the wheel or Ctrl+Enter).
  5. OBS shows old entries: click Save on the streaming page, then right-click the wheel source → Refresh.
  6. Wheel in OBS doesn't match the website at all: the saved link isn't the streaming link — copy it from wheelofnames.com/streaming, save it in ✏ Ticker & Live Sources, re-import the scenes (or paste it into the source's Properties → URL).
  7. Discord box is blank: no link saved yet (fine), or Discord isn't running on this PC.
  8. Hits counter says the login can't run it, or has expired: the scene was downloaded from another account, or that login ended. Download OBS Scenes again (or copy the picker's "OBS link with −1 button") while signed in as the master admin, and paste the new address into the source's Properties.
  9. Hits counter shows READY: no count set yet — Interact → press S.
  10. Cam is black: another program is using the webcam, or the wrong Device is picked on Camera 1 — Face.
